Mission & Vision

The mission of KOSMO Foundation (Korean Sports Medical Organization) is to contribute to the development of sports and culture. It trains people and builds systems so that athletes and artists can develop their abilities in a safe, supportive environment, with sports medical team education at the center.

Mission

We contribute to the development of sports and culture.

Vision

We train the people and build the systems that help athletes and artists develop their abilities in a safe, supportive environment.

How we put it into practice

  1. We educate medical professionals who can protect athletes in sports settings, and introduce internationally recognized curricula.
  2. We explore diverse ways of giving support so that student athletes can commit to their sport with peace of mind.
  3. Through cultural and arts events, we broaden cultural infrastructure in many forms.
  4. We cooperate with a wide range of sports organizations to broaden the base of sport.

Why pitch-side medical education?

When a serious injury happens in a game, the decisions made in the few minutes before the ambulance arrives can shape the outcome. Those minutes belong to team doctors, team nurses and athletic trainers. The foundation places sports medical team education — helping them assess, treat and transfer athletes to the same standards — at the center of its work.

Support for injured athletes

Early diagnosis and proper rehabilitation are essential for young athletes, yet some miss the right time for treatment because of cost or lack of information. Through its Student Athlete Support program, the foundation reviews applications and helps pay treatment costs for injured student athletes, and works to prevent injuries through instructor education.

Purpose of the foundation

The purpose of the foundation is defined in its articles of incorporation.
