Programs

KOSMO Foundation runs seven programs centered on education for the sports medical teams who protect athletes on the field and in training, alongside instructor education and support for elite and student athletes.

KOSMO Foundation (Korean Sports Medical Organization) runs seven non-profit programs in Korea centered on education for sports medical teams — team doctors, sports physicians, team nurses and athletic trainers — together with orthopedic specialist development, fitness and Pilates instructor education, elite athlete nutrition support, leadership training, arts and culture programs, and a student athlete support system.

At the core: education for pitch-side medical professionals

When an athlete goes down on the field or in training, the decisions and care of the first few minutes can decide the athlete's life and career. KOSMO Foundation is a non-profit foundation whose Chairman is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, and it places education for sports medical teams — team doctors, sports physicians, team nurses and athletic trainers — at the heart of its work.

Alongside this, the foundation runs education for orthopedic specialists and for fitness, Pilates and community sport instructors, nutrition support for elite athletes, leadership training, arts and culture programs, and a student athlete support system that includes medical support for injured student athletes — seven programs in all.

The foundation is not a hospital. It does not treat patients itself; it educates, supports and connects athletes with medical institutions. Donations received and how they are used are published in the Transparency section.

Frequently asked questions

What programs does KOSMO Foundation run?

Centered on education for sports medical teams — team doctors, sports physicians, team nurses and athletic trainers — we run seven programs: sports medical team education, orthopedic specialist development, fitness and Pilates instructor education, elite athlete nutrition support, leadership training, arts and culture programs, and student athlete support.

Where do I apply for injury treatment cost support?

Medical support for injured student athletes is part of Student Athlete Support. Check eligibility in the Apply for Medical Support section at the end of the Student Athlete Support page, then apply online.

Does the foundation provide medical treatment itself?

No. The foundation is a non-profit foundation, not a medical institution. It runs education and, after a review, helps pay for treatment or connects athletes with medical institutions; treatment itself takes place at medical institutions.

Where can I find education and seminar dates?

Dates and recruitment news for courses, seminars and workshops are published in the Notices and Seminars & Activities sections of our News.

How can I donate to the foundation's programs?

You can make a regular or one-off donation on the Support an Athlete page. How donations are used is published in the Donation Reports of the Transparency section. For tax benefits, see the Tax Benefits & Receipts page.
